Abstract
The present paper exposes and discusses several nineteenth Century methods and criteria used to investigate the probabilities of authorship authenticit:y of poems, mainly sonnets, assigned sincethe sixteenth Century to Camões and/ or to edit the Poets' lyric works. ln a second moment, using the concept of Ethics conceivedby Eduardo Lourenço, it is analyzed, in particular, Cleonice Beardinelli's edition: Os sonetos de Camões - corpus dos sonetos camonianos (1980).
