Almeida Garrett: diálogos da ficção com o jornalismo
Abstract
The proposal of this article is to present the reception of the novels Viagens na minha terra e O arco de S ant'Ana in periodic portuguese press .The articles that had been selected in newspapers include the period between 1843-1851. These years were of real policie instability and marked the beginning of the constitutionalism in Portugal (1834-1851). ln this period, Garrett published Viagens na minha terra (1843 - 1845 - 1846) and O arco de Sant'Ana (1845- 1850),where his political ideas and the ways of liberalism will be discussed with complexity and scope.
