Abstract
"There aren't people like us: a short view of the Madeira Island imigrants in Niterói -1930-1990". Based on real fones, and utilizing the concepts of "invisible group" of Abner Cohen e "contrastive identity", of Roberto Cardoso de Oliveira, the author analysis the proccss of the construction of the Madeira Island imigrants social identity in Niteroi, in the period of 1930-1990.
